Hybrid flooring is typically composed of four layers that are pressed together-
- Top layer – The top layer is known as an impact-resistant top coat that gives protection from scratches, discoloration, and more.
- Print layer – The copy layer utilizes advanced printing technology to print your desired image. Hybrid floors can very realistically recreate the feel of surfaces such as wood, tile, concrete, and marble.
- Core board – The composite lends hybrid floors the effect of solidity and water resistance. For both types of hybrid floors, this layer mainly consists of two types. STONE- PLASTIC COMPOUND (SPC) consists mostly of limestone, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and stabilizers, whereas WOOD- PLASTIC COMPOUND (WPC) consists of recycled wood, and PVC. Most WPC floors will cost more, but they’re thicker, more comfortable, and often more durable.
- Acoustic underlay –Many hybrid floorboards have this insulating layer installed at their core, which has anti-sound, insulating, and comfort-boosting properties
